High Intensity Interval Training Routine. The Burpee Broad Jump is essentially a burpee with a jump forward instead of vertical. The goal is jump out as far as possible while maintaining your balance. Broad jumps are a bounding exercise that build explosiveness and leg strength. This type of jump allows you to improve your fast-twitch muscle fibers. Combine this with a burpee and you have one heck of a full-body, high intensity interval training routine.
All Levels Welcome
All levels are welcome for this type of HIIT workout. The burpee can be modified for beginners or enhanced for more advanced athletes. I like to utilize the clapping pushup burpee prior to each broad jump.
To add more intensity (and weight) to this workout, try using a weight vest. This will not only increase the challenge of this exercise, but it will also add resistance that your body will be forced to adjust to. Ultimately, you will burn more fat and by forcing your body into overdrive, you will continue burning fat even after your workout is complete.
